How to Use the ACORD Scan

ACORD Scan Overview
  The ACORD Scan feature in Momentum AI allows you to upload ACORD forms or declaration pages and automatically convert them into structured data. This makes it possible to quickly create or update prospects, insureds, quotes, and policies in Momentum AMS, eliminating hours of manual entry.

Step 1: Access the ACORD Scan Tool

  1. Log in to Momentum AMS.

  2. From the left navigation, click Momentum AMP.

  3. Select Momentum AI (opens in a new tab).

  4. In the AI Center, click AI Scans.

  5. Choose ACORD Scan.

Step 2: Upload the ACORD or Declaration Page

  • Upload your ACORD application or declaration page as a PDF file.

  • Momentum AI will automatically extract information such as:

    • Insured / Prospect Name

    • Policy Number

    • Line of Business

    • Effective and Expiration Dates

    • Limits, Deductibles, and Coverages

    • Producer / Agency Details (if applicable)

Step 3: Review the Extracted Data

  • The extracted details will be displayed for review.

  • Verify accuracy and correct any errors before creating records.

Step 4: Create or Update Records in AMS

  • Choose to create a new Prospect or Insured.

  • Or, select an existing record and update with the new policy details.

  • Save the record and attach the original ACORD file for compliance and auditing.


Best Practices for ACORD Scan
  • Always upload complete, legible ACORD forms or dec pages for best results.
  • Double-check extracted limits, deductibles, and dates before saving.
  • Use ACORD Scan to kickstart quoting by creating prospects and policies instantly.
  • Keep the original ACORD/dec page attached to the insured’s record for E&O protection.
   • Pair ACORD Scan with **Policy Compare** to track renewal changes year-over-year.
