How to Configure Tags

How to Configure Tags in Momentum AMS
Tags in Momentum AMS let you label and categorize records — such as insureds, prospects, and policies — for easier searching, filtering, and reporting. They can be grouped into categories for better organization and assigned colors for quick visual identification.

In addition to organization and reporting, tags are a powerful way to trigger automations in either Momentum AC or Momentum CRM. This makes them useful for initiating marketing campaigns, task assignments, notifications, or follow-up workflows without manual effort.

1️⃣ Access the Tag Configuration Screen

  1. In the left navigation menu, click Miscellaneous.

  2. Select Agency Customization.

  3. Scroll to the Tags section.

2️⃣ Create a Tag Category

  1. Click Add New Category.

  2. Enter a Category Name (e.g., Client Type, Marketing Source, Renewal Status).

Tip: Categories help keep tags organized and easier to manage.

3️⃣ Create a Tag

  1. Within the correct category, click Add New Tag.

  2. Enter the Tag Name – Keep it short and descriptive (e.g., VIP Client, Google Ads, High Loss Ratio).

  3. (Optional) Select a Tag Color for quick visual recognition in lists and reports.

  4. Click Save.

4️⃣ Edit or Delete Tags

  • Edit – Click on the tag name to update it or change its color.

  • Delete – Remove the tag entirely (it will be removed from all records where applied).

Note: If you delete a category, all tags inside it will also be deleted.

5️⃣ Apply Tags to Records

Once created, tags can be applied to:

  • Insureds / Prospects – From their profile, select the tag(s) from the tag section.

  • Policies – Open the policy and assign the tag(s).

Multiple tags can be applied to the same record.

6️⃣ Use Tags in Searches, Reports, and Automations

  • Filter list views by tag for quick access to specific records.

  • Use tag filters in reports to narrow results.

  • Combine tags with other search criteria for more targeted reporting.

  • Trigger Automations in Momentum AC or Momentum CRM by applying specific tags to records.

7️⃣ Best Practices

  • Always create a category before adding tags.

  • Keep tag names clear and consistent.

  • Assign colors strategically to make important tags stand out.

  • Review tags quarterly to remove duplicates or unused tags.

  • Use automation-specific tags consistently to ensure triggers run correctly.
