In Momentum AMS, Tasks are action items used to track and manage specific to-do items associated with a policy, insured, quote, or internal workflow. Unlike Service Requests, which are often submitted by clients or external users, Tasks are primarily internal and serve as the foundation of agency operations and accountability.
This article will help you understand what tasks are, how they function, and how they fit into Momentum AMS’s workflow and pipeline structure.
✅ What Is a Task?
A Task is a time-bound action or follow-up that needs to be completed by someone in the agency. Tasks can be:
Manually created by users
Automatically triggered by workflows (if configured)
Assigned to individuals, roles, or teams
Tied to insureds, policies, notes, or opportunities
Examples of typical tasks:
Request loss runs from carrier
Collect driver list for renewal
Follow up on a quote proposal
Upload final dec page
Complete binding checklist
Tasks vs. Service Requests
Tasks | Service Requests |
---|---|
Internal action items | Client- or agency-submitted change or help requests |
Used by CSRs, producers, back office | Submitted by staff or via smart forms |
Organized by Category (e.g., Commercial Auto) and Stage (e.g., Loss Runs) | Organized by Request Type |
Visible in Task Pipeline Overview | Visible in Service Requests Overview |
Tasks often result from or are connected to service requests but are tracked independently for action and follow-up.
