A Master Certificate in Momentum AMS serves as a reusable template for issuing Certificates of Insurance (COIs). Instead of manually entering policy details each time, the Master Certificate pulls in coverages and settings from linked policies—making the COI issuance process faster, more accurate, and more consistent.
This guide walks you through the steps to create a Master Certificate from an insured's profile.
Step-by-Step Instructions
✅ Step 1: Open the Insured's Profile
Begin by locating the insured for whom the Master Certificate will be created.
Use the global search to find the client by name or policy number.
Click into their profile to access their details and documents.
✅ Step 2: Navigate to the Certificates Master Section
Once inside the insured’s profile:
Click on the "Documents" tab.
In the top navigation menu within the Documents area, select "Certificates Master".
✅ Step 3: Add a New Master Certificate
Click the “Add New” button to begin creating the Master Certificate.
✅ Step 4: Choose a Certificate Template
You will be prompted to select a certificate template.
Most agencies use ACORD 25 – Certificate of Liability Insurance as the standard template for liability coverage.
✅ Step 5: Name the Certificate
Enter a descriptive name for easy identification.
Example:"2025 Master Certificate"
or"Main COI Template – Acme Inc."
✅ Step 6: Select Applicable Policies
Check all policies that should be linked to this certificate.
These linked policies will automatically populate the coverage limits and terms when COIs are issued using this Master Certificate.
✅ Step 7: Confirm Coverages and Choose Signature
Review the populated coverages to ensure accuracy.
Select the signature that should appear on the certificate. This is usually a designated agency representative or licensed producer.
✅ Step 8: Save the Master Certificate
Click “Save” to finalize and store the Master Certificate under the insured’s Documents section.
Why Use a Master Certificate?
