Whitelisting is a term used in the industry that means asking subscribers to add an email address to their address books. Having your messages reach your subscribers' inboxes is crucial to normal operation. By whitelisting NOWCERTS.COM, you can ensure that important messages will be more likely to reach your inbox.
Below are examples of some of the more popular clients that your subscribers might be using to receive emails from. Each section will display the steps on how to whitelist a sender's email address. Log into your account and open up the email in your inbox. Hover over the sender's name and a window will pop up. Select "Add to Contacts" to save the sender to your contacts list.
You can also whitelist in Gmail before opening the email. To do so, hover over the sender's name next to the subject line in the inbox. Click on "More" in the pop-up box. Select "Add to senders" to save them to your contacts list.
Log into your account, hover over the "Settings" gear/cog icon, and click on "Settings".
In the "Settings" tab, select "Filters" from the left menu and click on "Add" to create a new filter.
Type a name for your filter in the "Filter name" field. Select "Contains" in the "Sender" drop-down menu. Type the sender's email address in the "Sender" text field. In the "Move to Folder" drop-down menu, select "Inbox". Click on the "Save" button in the top bar to save the filter.
Hotmail
In the top right corner of your account, click on the "Settings" gear/cog icon and then click on "Options".
In the "Options" screen under "Preventing junk email", click on "Safe and blocked senders".
Next, click on "Safe senders".
Enter in the sender's email address and click on "Add to list > >".
In the top right corner of your account, click on "Options" and then click on "Mail Settings".
On the "Mail Settings" page, click on "Spam Settings" on the left menu. Then, choose "Allow mail only from addresses I specify" on the drop-down menu. Enter in the sender's email address, click on the "+" button, and then click on "Save Settings" to save the changes you made to your settings.
Right-click on the message in your inbox and select "Junk E-mail" from the menu. Then, click on "Add Sender to Safe Senders List".
MacMail
From your top menu bar, click on "Mail" and then select "Preferences".
In the "Preferences" window, click on the "Rules" icon. Then, click on the "Add Rule" button.
In the "Add Rule" window, type a name for your rule in the "Description" text field. Then, use the following settings: “If any of the following conditions are met: "From" "Contains"”, and type in the sender’s email address in the text field beside “Contains”. Then, select the following settings: “Perform the following actions: "Move Message” to mailbox: “Inbox”". Finally, click on “OK” to save your newly created rule.
Verizon
- Open your email.
- Click on "Options".
- Click on "Block Senders".
- Locate the "Safe List".
- Enter your contact's domain.
- Click on "OK".
- Click on "Address Book".
- Click on "New" and then click on "New Contact".
- Add the sender's email address.
- Click on "Save".
- Open your email.
- Click on "Preferences".
- Under "General Email Preferences", click on "Blocked Senders".
- Type in the sender's email address in the "Exceptions List".
- Click on "Add".
- Click on "Save".
- Click on your "Junk Mail" folder.
- Select the email that includes the email address you would like to add as a safe sender.
- Click on "Mark as Not Spam".
- Select "Options".
- Select "Filters".
- Click on "Add Filter".
- In the top row labeled "From Header", select "Contains" from the drop down menu.
- Enter in the sender's email address.
- At the bottom where the "Move the message to" option is, select "Inbox" from the drop down menu.
- Click on "Add Filter".
- Click on "Add".
- Enter your sender's domain (i.e. example.com).
- Click on "Save".
- Check if your sender's email is in your "Junk" folder. Then, right click on the email and select "Mark As Not Junk".
- Click on "Address Book".
- Make sure that the "Personal Address Book" is highlighted.
- Click on "New Card". The "New Card" window will display.
- Under the "Contact" tab, copy your sender's "From" address and paste it into the email dialog box.
- Click on "Ok".
- Click on the "Settings" tab.
- Click on "Messages".
- Click on "Allow and Block Messages".
- Select "Advanced Block Senders".
- In the "Allowed Senders and Domains" area, type in the email address of the sender you want to allow.
- Click on "Ok".
- Click on "Settings".
- From the email settings screen, select "Junk E-mail Guard".
- Select "Safe List".
- Enter the sender's email address.
- Click on "Add".
- Start Norton AntiSpam.
- Click on the "Status & Settings" tab.
- Click on the "Configure" button.
- Click on the "Allowed List" tab.
- Click on "Add".
- Enter in the sender's email address.
- Click on "Ok".
- Click on the "Allow/Deny" menu option in the "Control Console".
- Enter in the sender's email address in the "Add Entries" field in the "Allow List".
- Click on "Save".
- Open the email containing (from/to) the sender's email address.
- Right-click the sender's email address.
- Select "Add to Address Book".
- Verify the sender's contact details.
- Click on "Save".
