How to Clear Cached Images and Files in Your Browser

Overview

Your browser stores cached images and files to help websites load faster. Occasionally, this can cause Momentum AMS to display older information or prevent recent updates from appearing correctly. Clearing only the cached images and files refreshes the page without removing your saved website logins or browsing history.

When Should You Clear Your Cache?

Clearing cache is recommended when:

  • A page looks outdated after a recent system update
  • Buttons or screens are not displaying correctly
  • Something appears broken after a reported fix
  • You are seeing old information that should have changed
  • Support recommends refreshing your browser data

It is also a good maintenance step to do occasionally even if no issue is present.

How to Clear Cache in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge

Step 1 – Open Browser Menu

  • Click the three dots in the top-right corner of your browser

In:

  • Google Chrome → top-right menu
  • Microsoft Edge → similar process

Step 2 – Open Settings

  • Select Settings

Step 3 – Go to Privacy & Security

  • In the left menu, click Privacy and Security

Step 4 – Open Delete Browsing Data

  • Click Delete Browsing Data

Step 5 – Select Cached Images and Files Only

Important:

Leave only the following checked:

  • Cached Images and Files

Make sure the following are unchecked:

  • Browsing History
  • Cookies and Site Data
  • Passwords
  • Autofill Data

Set the Time Range to:

  • All Time

Step 6 – Click Delete Data

  • Click Delete Data

Once complete:

  • Close the browser tab
  • Refresh Momentum AMS
  • Log back in if needed

Important Notes

Clearing cached images and files:

  • Removes stored page images and temporary files
  • Does not remove passwords
  • Does not remove saved logins
  • Does not clear your browsing history

This means your saved sites and normal browser settings should remain intact.

Best Practice

If Momentum AMS was recently updated or a system issue was resolved:

  • Clear your cache
  • Refresh the page
  • Then test again

This helps ensure you are viewing the most current version of the system.

Summary

If Momentum AMS looks outdated or something doesn’t appear to be working correctly:

  • Open browser settings
  • Go to Privacy & Security
  • Select Delete Browsing Data
  • Clear Cached Images and Files only
  • Refresh Momentum AMS

This is one of the fastest ways to resolve display-related issues without affecting your saved browsing data.
