How to Add Custom Lines of Business in Momentum AMS
 Lines of Business (LOBs) in Momentum AMS define the types of insurance policies your agency writes, such as Commercial Auto, Homeowners, or Workers’ Compensation.

 In addition to the system’s built-in LOBs, you can create custom LOBs to match your agency’s unique products, ensuring accurate policy entry and reporting. 

1️⃣ Access the Custom Lines of Business Setup

  1. In the left navigation menu, click Miscellaneous.

  2. Select Agency Customization.

  3. Scroll to the Lines of Business section.


2️⃣ Add a New Custom Line of Business

  1. Click Add New.

  2. Complete the required fields:

FieldDescription
NameThe name of the line of business (e.g., Cyber Liability, Pet Health).
ClassAssign the LOB to a class (e.g., Commercial, Personal, Specialty) for organization and reporting.
  1. Click Save.


3️⃣ Edit or Deactivate a Custom LOB

  • Edit – Click the LOB name to change the Name.

  • Hide – Uncheck the Active box to hide it from selection without deleting historical data.

  • Change LOB Class - To change the LOB Class.

  • Delete


4️⃣ Using Custom Lines of Business

Once saved, your custom LOB will:

  • Appear in the Line of Business dropdown when adding new policies.

  • Be available in reports for filtering and grouping.
