How to Use the Renewal Center in Momentum AMS

The Renewal Center in Momentum AMS is a powerful tool designed to help agencies efficiently track, manage, and process upcoming policy renewals.

Step 1: Access the Renewal Center

  1. Log in to Momentum AMS.
  2. Navigate to the Renewal Center from the main menu.
  3. The Renewal Center page will display a list of policies set to expire within a given timeframe.

Step 2: Apply Filters to Narrow Down Renewals

The search filters at the top of the page allow you to refine the list based on specific criteria:

  1. Set an Expiration Date Range to view policies renewing within a selected time period.
  2. Filter by Carrier, MGA, or Referral Source to focus on specific insurers or partners.
  3. Use Policy Status Filters to view only active, canceled, renewed, non-renewed, or pending cancellations.
  4. Sort by Premium, Renewal Premium, or % Change to quickly identify rate increases or decreases.
  5. Assign Agents, CSRs, and Opportunity Stages to track team responsibilities.
  6. Use Tags and Custom Filters to categorize renewals for easier tracking.

Once the filters are set, the Renewal Center List will update automatically to display relevant policies.


Step 3: Customize Your Renewal Center View

The Renewal Center List is fully configurable, allowing you to adjust the columns displayed and their order.

  1. Click on the Configurator Icon in the top right of the list.
  2. Select or deselect the columns you want to display.
  3. Drag and drop columns to rearrange their order.
  4. Save your settings to personalize your Renewal Center view.

Step 4: Understand the Renewal Center List

Each row in the Renewal Center List represents a policy up for renewal. Key details include:

  • Insured Name – Displays the policyholder’s name. Clicking the small person icon next to it opens the Insured Info Center, showing additional details like contact information, policy history, and notes.
  • Carrier & Parent Carrier – Identifies the insurance provider.
  • Policy Number & Expiration Date – Shows when the policy is set to expire.
  • Current and Renewal Premiums – Compares existing premiums with renewal quotes.
  • Percentage & Dollar Change in Premium – Displays increases or decreases in premium cost.
  • Renewal Quote & Policy Status – If a renewal quote is entered, the system calculates the percentage and dollar change. The Policy Status column shows whether a policy is active, canceled, renewed, non-renewed, or pending cancellation.

Step 5: Utilize Quick Access Icons for Additional Information

The Renewal Center includes mini icons to access policy details without leaving the page:

  • “P” Icon – Opens the Policy Info Center, allowing users to view full policy details.
  • “Q” Icon – Provides quick access to quote Info Center .
  • Comparison Tool Icon – Appears next to the Renewal Quote or Renewal Policy if available. Clicking this icon allows agents to compare policies side by side, highlighting differences in premiums, deductibles, endorsements, and coverage changes.

Step 6: Perform Actions Using Built-in Tools

Momentum AMS includes several built-in tools to help manage renewals efficiently.

1. View Financial Summaries with the $ Icon

  • Click the $ Icon to toggle the Totals Overview, which displays financial data such as:
    • Total Premiums, Agency Fees, and Commissions.
    • Receivables & Payables owed by insureds or to carriers.
  • Click the $ Icon again to hide the financial summary.

2. Make Bulk Changes with Batch Actions

  • Click the Checkmark Icon to activate Batch Actions mode.
  • Select multiple policies and:
    • Assign or update tags.
    • Reassign agents or CSRs for servicing.
    • Make bulk updates without modifying each policy individually.
  • Click the Checkmark Icon again to exit Batch Actions mode.

3. Export Renewal Data to a CSV/Excel File

  • Click the Export Icon to generate a CSV or Excel file of your filtered renewal list.
  • Save or email the file for external reporting, team collaboration, or further analysis.

Step 7: Compare Renewal Quotes with Existing Policies

If a renewal quote is available, use the Comparison Tool to evaluate policy changes:

  1. Locate the comparison icon next to the Renewal Quote or Renewal Policy.
  2. Click the icon to open a side-by-side comparison of the current and renewal policy.
  3. Review changes in premium, deductibles, endorsements, and coverage terms.
  4. Use this data to discuss renewal options with the insured.

Step 8: Ensure Data Accuracy for Best Results

To maximize the effectiveness of the Renewal Center:

  • Ensure that renewal quotes are entered for policies to calculate premium changes.
  • If using carrier downloads, allow the system to auto-update renewal data.
  • Regularly review policy statuses and update them as renewals are processed.
