Troubleshooting DNS and IP Address Errors

Occasionally, your internet provider's DNS servers may experience hiccups, preventing you from accessing your Momentum AMS account. This guide provides a quick fix using Google's reliable public DNS.

Step 1: Change your DNS settings

  1. Open Control Panel > Network and Internet > View Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click Change Adapter Settings.
  3. Right-click your network connection (e.g., Wi-Fi) and select Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
  5. Choose Use the following DNS server addresses:
    • Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
    • Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

  6. Click OK.

Step 2: Refresh your network connection

  • Disconnect and reconnect to your network.

Step 3: Clear your DNS cache

  1. Open Command Prompt (search for "cmd" in the Windows search bar).
  2. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  3. Verify the changes by typing nslookup www8.nowcerts.com and pressing Enter. You should see 8.8.8.8 listed as the DNS server and 74.208.186.52 as the URL.
