How to Edit an Insured’s Contact Information

How to Edit an Insured’s Contact Information
Accurate contact information is essential for policy servicing, billing, certificate delivery, and maintaining compliance. In Momentum AMS, editing an insured’s information is fast and straightforward — whether you’re updating a phone number, correcting a name, or changing the primary address.

This article walks you through how to edit names, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, and other key fields within an insured's profile.

Step-by-Step: Editing Contact Information

1️⃣ Locate the Insured Record

  • Use the global search bar at the top of the screen or go to Insureds from the left-hand menu

  • Enter the insured’s name, business name, or phone number to find the correct profile

  • Click on the insured’s name to open their Detail Page

2️⃣ Click the Edit Button

  • On the top-right corner of the insured’s detail page, click the “Edit” button

  • This will open the insured’s general information in editable form

3️⃣ Make the Necessary Changes

You can update any of the following fields:

  • First Name / Last Name

  • Business Name (if applicable)

  • Primary Phone Number

  • Cell Phone / Work Phone / Fax

  • Primary Email Address

  • Mailing Address (Street, City, State, ZIP)

  • Physical Address (if different from mailing)

  • Website, Title, or Tax ID (if business)

  • Contact Type or Status (if needed)

4️⃣ Click Save

Once you’ve made your changes, scroll down and click the Save button at the bottom of the form. The system will update the insured’s contact record instantly.

Best Practices

  • Always verify the insured’s contact information during renewals or service calls

  • Be sure to update both the mailing and physical address fields if they are different

  • Use consistent naming formats for business clients (e.g., “ABC Roofing Inc.” instead of “ABC Roofing”)

  • When working with a business, make sure to specify the Contact Person separately under “Contacts” if different from the named insured

Related Features

  • You can also manage Additional Contacts (e.g., spouses, office admins) under the “Contacts” tab of the insured’s profile

  • If a name or address change is significant (e.g., legal name change), you may also need to submit an endorsement request to the carrier
