Every automation in Momentum follows a simple, 3-step logic. Think of it as a sentence:
"When this happens, if it's Who I want, then Do this."
TRIGGER ➝ FILTER ➝ ACTION
1. The Trigger (The "When")
The starting gun. The system watches for specific events 24/7.
- Date-Based: Policy Expiration, Birthdays, X-Dates.
- Status-Based: Quote becomes "Sold", Policy becomes "Active".
- Action-Based: New Opportunity created in a pipeline.
2. The Filters (The "Who")
The Gatekeeper. This ensures you only message the right people.
- Include (Must Have): The client MUST match this to enter.
Example: "Only Commercial Lines policies over $5,000." - Exclude (Block): Blocks the client if they match this.
Example: "Exclude anyone who already has Homeowners insurance."
3. The Touchpoints (The "What")
The actions that happen on a schedule you define (e.g., "Wait 3 Days").
- Communication: Automated Email, SMS, or Phone Call Scripts.
- Internal Tasks: Create Tasks for staff or Open Opportunities.
- Data Updates: Automatically Add/Remove Tags or Notes.
4. Exit Conditions (The "Stop")
Safety rules that remove a client to prevent awkward messages.
- Engagement: Stop immediately if the client Replies.
- Status Change: Stop if the Policy Status changes to "Renewed".
- Exit Action: You can set a final task (like send an email or move opportunity stage) to trigger the moment they leave.
